Palace ‘hoping’ to sell midfielder to Norwich – Birmingham may be interested

Crystal Palace are looking to offload flop Jordon Mutch and see Norwich as the most likely destination, according to the Sun.

However, Mutch got his break through at Birmingham City before his move to Cardiff, and with rumours of a £10m transfer kitty for the next two years, there may be an opportunity to re-sign the midfielder.

A talented midfielder, Mutch’s career has been hit with injuries and a lack of form at inopportune times, but it’s clear he has ability to play Championship-level football if he can find some fitness.

Norwich are looking to add some midfielders as defensive midfielder Alex Tettey looks set to leave, and Jordon Mutch could add some creation and deep-lying passing to a Norwich midfield which struggled to create last year.

Birmingham fans are looking for an upgrade on Stephen Gleeson, or at least an alternative, as the midfielder played a huge amount of games last year and appeared to tire.

Mutch has three years left on his deal at Crystal Palace, but Alan Pardew reportedly want to offload him which could lead to a smaller fee.

That said, he would likely command a fee of at least seven figures, which would be quite steep for Birmingham, which is probably why Norwich are favourites to sign him.
