Grimsby Town are set to make their first signing of the season this week according to a report from the Grimsby Telegraph.
The Mariners have just been promoted from the Vanarama National and are hoping to strengthen their squad ahead of what is sure to be a tough season in League 2. And now according to this report they are close to making their first signing since being promoted and that it will be confirmed at some point this week.
Even better yet for Grimsby fans, there won’t just be one player moving into Blundell Park this week. If talks go well, Mariners manager Paul Hurst could be signing up two players to the cause within the next seven days.
This comes off the back on what has been a very successful off season for Grimsby so far. A number of their players were out of contract this summer and there were some fears that after an impressive season they could end up losing them. But their major players, which include captain Craig Disley, Josh Venney and goalkeeper James McKeown, have all signed new deals and will be staying in Lincolnshire for the near future.
Now though Grimsby fans will be excited to see what new players will join the club soon.
