Canaries linked with move for Dutch defender

Championship bound Norwich City are thought to be chasing Dutch centre back Stefano Denswil according to the Norwich Evening News.

The Canaries are looking to bolster their defensive options over the summer with Club Brugge defender Denswil one player who is believed to feature on manager Alex Neil’s wanted list.

The 23 year old Zaandam born defender is a product of the academy set up at Ajax and the player went on to make 39 appearances for the club at reserve team and first team levels and scored three goals.

Denswil joined Ajax as an eight year old schoolboy but in January 2015 he ended his career at the Amsterdam ArenA when he joined Belgian outfit Club Brugge on a three and a half year deal. The defender has gone on to make 64 appearances for the Belgian Pro League club and has scored three goals. Denswil has gone on to lift the Belgian Cup and Belgian Pro League title during his time at the Jan Breydel Stadium while the player could feature for Club Brugge in the Champions League next season should he remain at the club.

It is understood that Spanish giants Barcelona have been following the player’s development and Norwich City could face a huge battle to secure the player’s signature this summer.
