Wells remains focussed on job at Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town striker Nahki Wells insists that he is fully focussed on his role at The John Smith’s Stadium despite regularly being linked with a move to the Premier League according to the Huddersfield Examiner.

The 26 year old Bermudan international has been a regular goalscorer in the Football League since bursting onto the scene five years ago and his prolific finishing is constantly admired by other clubs.

Wells joined Huddersfield Town from West Yorkshire rivals Bradford City for an undisclosed fee back in January 2014 and the striker has gone on to score 38 goals in 106 appearances for The Terriers.

Like any ambitious professional footballer, Wells admits that he has aspirations of playing in the Premier League however he remains fully committed to The Terriers.

“I’m contracted to Huddersfield for another two years and there hasn’t been any bid for me to worry about, so I’m not sidetracked at the moment,” Wells told The Royal Gazette in Bermuda.

“I have to respect my club, but at the same time I’m always open to trying to better myself. If a great opportunity comes along then that’s something myself and Huddersfield would have to look into.”

Under the leadership of head coach David Wagner, Huddersfield Town are looking to the future after finishing the 2015/2016 Championship season in 19th position in the table and there is a chance that Wells could yet play in the top flight with his current club should Town have a successful summer of incoming transfer deals.
