Northern Ireland fans have called for Kyle Lafferty and Will Grigg to start alongside each other in the Euro Championships in France this summer.
Despite making qualification for France by playing a lone striker, according to BBC Sport, the majority of fans believe O’Neil should play Grigg alongside Lafferty to have any chance of progressing to the next round.
Lafferty – who was part of the Norwich squad that was relegated back into the Sky Bet Championship – was the third most picked player out of the 23-man squad named by Martin O’Neil.
Grigg, who was influential in the promotion of Wigan back into the Championship, however was the sixth most picked player in the Greens’ squad.
Grigg missed out on the top five most picked following a 28-goal promotion campaign for Wigan in League One and an 88th-minute goal in the 2-0 win over Belarus in a warm-up game.
Lafferty scored seven goals in nine qualifying games, giving a large helpful hand into Northern Ireland finishing top of their qualifying group.
O’Neil’s side face Poland in their first Group C fixture, they face Ukraine four days later in Lyon before facing World Champions Germany in their final group game on June 21 in Paris.
