Brighton flop set to return to Holland

Brighton and Hove Albion’s Elvis Manu is set to return to his native Holland after an ill fated spell on the south coast according to a report from the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

The 22-year-old winger signed for the Seagulls last summer from Feyenoord for an undisclosed fee and was expected to be one of their main attacking outlets this season.

However he failed to break into the first team and only made nine appearances all season before being loaned out to Huddersfield Town in the January transfer window.

And while Manu still has two years left on his current contract, his time with the Seagulls may be at an end as he has now been linked with a move back to Holland. According to reports Manu may be about to move to Excelsior on a permanent deal and end his time in the English game.

Manu is familiar with Excelsior having played for them on loan back in 2012 and would be an ideal club for him to get back up to speed after a year of warming the benches.
