Retained List: 13 offered new Plymouth deals

The final few clubs yet to issue their retained lists for 2015/16 are starting to finalise their thoughts ahead of the new season. Today, Plymouth Argyle became the latest club to reveal theirs.

Derek Adams’ men are still hurting on the back of their Bank Holiday Monday Play-Off Final defeat to AFC Wimbledon at Wembley. A total of 13 players have been offered new contracts.

Three more players have had options taken up on extending their contracts for an additional year. Those are Graham Carey, Jake Jervis and Gary Sawyer.

Three senior professionals will leave the club, and that released trio is headlined by Deane Smalley. His two-year stay at the club has been hampered by injuries, so Adams has given him the opportunity to rebuild his career elsewhere. He only made five starts since signing.

Also moving on will be Josh Simpson. The ex-Crawley Town midfielder has also had his injury concerns, something which damped his time at Crawley as well. He is another looking to rebuild his career and will be hoping to prove his fitness in the process.

Finally, Callum Hall moves on having struggled to make the step up to first-team level after graduating from the academy.

A whole host of players have been offered contracts for next season, 13 in total. Those names are as followed:

James Bittner, Ryan Brunt, Vincent Dorel, Peter Hartley, Tyler Harvey, Luke McCormick, Carl McHugh, Kelvin Mellor, Curtis Nelson, Ben Purrington, Reuben Reid, Louis Rooney and Gregg Wylde.
