Argyle fans reflect on Wembley loss – Twitter reacts

It will take all summer for fans, players and officials of Plymouth Argyle to forget about the disappointment of their 2-0 League 2 Play Off Final defeat to AFC Wimbledon.

With a huge backing of over 34,000 Argyle supporters at the national stadium, Derek Adams’ side were flat and despite a bright opening, the green and whites struggled to get to grips with AFC Wimbledon’s long ball game.

Despite spending most of the League 2 campaign in the automatic promotion places, Plymouth Argyle’s promotion bid faltered at the business end of the season and late goals from Lyle Taylor and Adebayo Akinfenwa ended Argyle’s hopes of League 1 football at Wembley. Over 24 hours have now passed since that painful defeat and The72 takes a look at what fans had to say about the result on Twitter.

Plymouth Argyle will now kick off their sixth consecutive season in League 2 in August.
