Hull target prolific League One striker

Hull City have joined the race for Millwall striker Lee Gregory, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

Gregory has scored 28 goals for promotion chasing Millwall in League One this season, so has been attracting interest from various championship clubs.

The 27 year old forward is a former team-mate of Jamie Vardy having played with him at FC Halifax. He is apparently rated at around £2 million.

Hull City apparently sent scouts to Millwall’s game against Bradford City, a game in which Gregory scored. However, the Tigers will have to compete with the likes of Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday for his signature.

Hull’s destination next season is yet to be decided as they play Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday at Wembley in the Championship Play-Off final on Saturday. It could be the case that if Hull lose and Millwall gain promotion in their League One play-off final, then Gregory could potentially play against the Tigers next season.

It is no surprise that rumours of new signings for Hull have come about already. The Tigers have been very active in the past few years in the transfer window, spending over £40 million in the past 3 years. Could Millwall’s top scorer be the next signing?
