Leeds United fan group present next stunt

Whilst Leeds United’s directors settle down to the nitty-gritty of a board meeting that will set the tone of the forthcoming season, they might want to avoid looking out towards the direction of the East Stand.

Should they venture that way as they attempt to stretch their legs, or nip out for a brisk walk, they may want want to not look too closely at what’s outside the East Stand.

In short, there’s something outside the East Stand that they might not want to see.

After Massimo Cellino said in a Times interview that he was “frightened” and wished he’d never bought the club in the first place. Quoted in the article, Cellino said: “If I could turn back time and you ask whether I would come to this club, I would say never.”

Jumping on this, fan-funded protest group Time to Go, Massimo (TTGM) have procured a mobile ‘For Sale’ sign that they have parked outside the East Stand entrance that they hope will “hasten any and all enquirers into making an offer” for the club that is such a personal rain cloud of doom for the Leeds United owner.

The stunt, the latest in a line of symbolic protests organised by TTGM and funded by specific funding drives organised by the group, follows such previous examples as the symbolic funeral for a dying club, an aeroplane banner fly-by and a march of the ground for Leeds city centre.

TTGM are wanting the controversial owner of Leeds United to ship out and say in their response to Cellino’s article in the Times that: “we have attempted to provide a platform for fans unhappy with the ownership of Mr Cellino to voice their disgust at his toxic ownership.”

It seems that this latest nudge from the TTGM collective is a timely reminder that there are some Leeds United fans who simply don’t want him around at Elland Road or associated with the club any longer.
