Leeds United: Contract talks stall for highly rated youngster

Leeds United’s starlet Bailey Peacock-Farrell has stalled on his contract talks with the club following a passed deadline which was set yesterday.

The club had offered the 19 year-old a new two-year contract and had given the youngster until Sunday to make a decision on his future.

Although Peacock-Farrell is yet to formally decline the contract, the deadline has passed without a conclusion from either party.

It is thought the goalkeeper wants assurances about his playing time before he pens a new contract at Elland Road after making his senior debut for the team at the start of April.

The shot-stopper started his career with fellow Championship outfit Middlesbrough, spending seven years with Boro before released in 2013.

After signing for the Whites in 2013, Peacock-Farrell progressed through the academy at Elland Road and signed his first professional contract in 2015.

Current boss Steve Evans promised the youngster more playing time towards the end of the 2015-15 season but one senior appearance was all the keeper was given.

It is unclear whether or not a new deadline has been set for Peacock-Farrell to accept or decline the contract.
