Retained List: 11 leave Crewe, including two regulars

It was certainly a season to forget for Crewe Alexandra. They finished bottom of Sky Bet League One, and manager Steve Davis reacted to that by releasing eleven players in his retained list for the season.

Talks are on-going with one player, with another offered an extended deal and two confirming that they will be staying. It is therefore expected to be a season of transfition at Gresty Road.

Defender Zoumana Bakayako has been offered a new contract and the club are awaiting feedback from the player to see if he will extend his stay or not.

Bradden Inman is still in talks with club representatives to see if he will be extending his association with Crewe. He ended the season as top scorer for the strugglers, so all connected with the club shall be hoping he agrees to remain on the books.

Two younger players have also agreed to stay on. Options have been taken to extend the contracts of goalkeeper David Richards and centre back Perry Ng by one year.

Eleven players will be leaving Gresty Road however. The highest profile of those are Canadian striker Marcus Haber and experienced midfielder David Fox. Haber ended the season on nine league goals, whilst Fox started 39 times in League One, however Davis has elected not to extend their stays.

Lauri Dalla Valle, Chris Atkinson and James Baillie has all been shown the exit door as well, along with Liam O’Neill, Fraser Murdoch, Joe Howell, Toby Mullarkey and Andre Brown.

Still, there are 20 players under contract going into next season, and those players are as followed:

Ben Garratt, David Richards, Jon Guthrie, George Ray, Harry Davis, Ben Nugent, Oliver Turton, Perry Ng, Ryan Wintle, James Jones, Oliver Finney, Callum Ainley, Billy Bingham, Tom Lowery, Harry Pickering, Owen Dale, George Cooper, Charlie Kirk, Callum Saunders, Daniel Udoh.
