Leeds United among a host of clubs keen to sign prolific English striker

Reports tonight from the Evening Telegraph tonight suggest that Leeds United are among a huge array of nine clubs who are monitoring Dundee striker Kane Hemmings.

The 24 year-old has been in sensational form for the Dark Blues this season netting 24 goals in just 36 games in all competitions.

Starting his career with Scottish giants Rangers, Hemmings spent two years with the Light Blues before being sold to Cowdenbeath after making just nine first team appearances.

In his first season in the Scottish Championship the 6’1″ striker managed to bag 18 league goals in 31 games, alerting English club Barnsley and leading to a move to Oakwell.

One season with the Tykes proved to be unsuccessful for the Englishman as he only managed to find the net three times in 23 league outings.

Upon signing with Dundee last summer, Hemmings is rumoured to have a £250,000 release clause in his contract which is why so many clubs are interested.

Aston Villa, QPR, Derby, Bolton, Barnsley, Burton, Sheffield United, Leeds and Preston have all expressed interest with many sending scouts to run the rule over the attacker.

Dundee boss has admitted it will be ‘difficult’ for the club to hold on to their star striker.

Leeds United are also interested in Dundee’s other striker Greg Stewart.
