Bristol City and Crystal Palace chase young Gills star

Bristol City and Crystal Palace are ready to battle it out for the services of Gillingham midfielder Bradley Dack according to the Bristol Post.

The Robins have long been admirers of the 22 year old midfielder who has starred for his club in League 1 this season but it has been reported that Premier League club Crystal Palace are set to join the summer chase for the player.

Gillingham are expected to sell their midfielder to the highest bidder in the summer should the club fail to win promotion to the Championship. Bristol City have previously had two bids rejected by The Gills with the highest bid understood to be in the region of £2 million. It is thought that the Kent club may hold out for bids above £2.5 million.

After failing to make the grade as a youngster at Charlton Athletic, Dack joined Gillingham’s academy and successfully graduated to the club’s senior side. The young midfielder has bagged 15 goals in 42 appearances for The Gills this season.

Bristol City could be sitting in a strong position to sign the player this summer with owner Steve Lansdown set to make significant transfer funds available to manager Lee Johnson as The Robins aim to make a push for promotion next season.
