Crewe Alexandra relegated from League 1 – Twitter reacts

Crewe Alexandra’s four year spell in League 1 ended yesterday afternoon after a 3-0 derby day defeat at Port Vale condemned the club to relegation to League 2.

Going into the Vale Park clash, the home side were winless in their last four league matches but it took Port Vale just three minutes to break the deadlock against the struggling Alex.

A Louis Dodds double and an injury time goal from JJ Hooper put the final nail in their local rivals’ coffin with The Railwaymen now a huge 16 points adrift of 20th placed Shrewsbury Town.

After watching their side suffer relegation with a whimper, Crewe Alexandra fans took to Twitter to give their views on the club’s relegation.

Crewe Alexandra now face five remaining league matches before they can rebuild in the summer. The general opinion of The Alex faithful is that the club needs new leadership and a potential restructure to allow the club to become more successful in future campaigns.
