Leeds United team news – fan reactions

Leeds United approach tonight’s game with the fallout from a bitter defeat at Rotherham only three days behind them after losing 2-1 to a late penalty – both teams ending the game with 10 men.

The last two Leeds United games have been beset by the creeping back of defensive frailties that the Whites were trying to work past. Against Huddersfield, in their last game at Elland Road, Leeds United’s defence crumbled in eight second-half minutes, the Whites shipping three goals to undo some semi-decent work. Against Rotherham on Saturday, both goals came about as results of defensive errors.

On the subject of team line-up, we knew that one change would be forced on Steve Evans, teen keeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell stepping up from the bench to replace the banned Marco Silvestri. Evans had also hinted that other changes were under consideration in a telephone interview with BBC Radio Leeds’ ‘West Yorkshire Sport’ programme and presenter Adam Pope.

In the end, Steve Evans kept faith with Giuseppe Bellusci with the majority of changes coming around due to a change in formation that sees Chris Wood stay as a lone striker with a five-man midfield behind him. Luke Murphy comes in for an incerasingly rare start and Leeds start the game with two dedicated wingers in Stuart Dallas and Mustapha Carayol.
