Time To Go Massimo hint at next protest move

As the season draws, sorry limps, to yet another disappointing end for Leeds United and fans wonder where the next result will come from, there’s at least some constants that you can rely upon when it come to the Whites.

Leeds fans either hate something, or love something – very often there is nothing in between in these contrasting views. Take Massimo Cellino for example, you are meant to either cling to his coat-tails and see him as the saviour or you despise him for the very Devil incarnate that some paint him to be.

Another constant also seems to be the protests organised by fans loyal to both sides, with a pro-Cellino protest by ‘In Massimo We Trust’ (IMWT) making a debut before Saturday’s game against Huddersfield Town and stacking up against the well-established and more hi-tech protests organised by the decidedly anti-Cellino movement ‘Time To Go Massimo’ (TTGM).

The latter started with a hastily-removed poster outside Elland Road before incorporating in much more genius ideas such as a video projection onto the East Stand awanings and a mock funeral for what they see as the symbolic death of a much-loved club. The man to blame for this, well there is only one and that is Massimo Cellino.

Before the match against Huddersfield, a typical TTGM poster appeared alongside the M621 leaving Leeds as a precursor to Saturday’s video broadcast on a big screen of some of Cellino’s quotes that have fallen by the wayside into broken promises alongside cartoon representations of the man himself and his massive shortcomings.

The protest cycle has shown no sign of slowing or losing momentum as TTGM pursue their aims with doggedness and already the steps are being put in place for the next protest on Saturday April 16 before the home game against Reading.

The method of protest for this particular game will involve a march from a to-be-confirmed starting point in the city centre with the destination being Elland Road where, according to the TTGM Twitter page, “We will finish in front of the East Stand before the Reading game to show Cellino, en masse, how we feel about his ownership” of Leeds United.

TTGM have a petition on ipetitions where interested parties can both sign the petition and leave their email address for further updates – the petition itself can be found here.
