Helan swaps Wednesday for Wolverhampton

Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the loan signing of Jeremy Helan from Sheffield Wednesday. The left-sided 23-year-old will train with his new side today, with the view to him making his debut against Derby County on Saturday.

The former Manchester City youngster has struggled for game time in recent times with the Owls, not even making the matchday squad on a number of occasions. However he comes to boost options in Kenny Jackett’s squad when they have a number of injury problems.

Speaking about his arrival, ex-Millwall boss Jackett believes that Helan has everything that is needed to be a hit at this level and should immediately warm himself to the Molineux faithful,

“He’s an attacking player and has a lot of pace and power, which is something we need in either position. We’re very pleased to add him.

“He gives us natural balance on the left side, we’ve had a considerable amount of injuries down there.

“He can play wide left or at left back. I think he’s capable of both and he’s comfortable in either depending on the system that you play.”

Helan has already lined up for Wednesday against Wolves earlier this season, coming off the bench in a 4-1 victory. He’ll now be hoping to win games in the gold & black of Wolverhampton for the remainder of the season. Since the injury to Jordan Graham, Jackett has been looking to fill the left-sided void in his squad. Tommy Rowe and Nathan Byrne have played in that role, but clearly he wants something a little different.
