Yun Suk-Young, out of favour at Queens Park Rangers, has today joined Championship and London rivals Charlton Athletic on loan. The 10-cap South Korean international moves to The Valley on a deal which runs until the end of the season.
The 26-year-old becomes the second signing in as many days by the Addicks as another defender, and another full back in the form of Marco Motta joined the club late last week.
Yun moved to Loftus Road in January 2013 but failed to make a single appearance for the R’s in the reaminder of that season. He featured more in the Championship the following season and briefly in the Premier League when they won promotion into the top flight. In addition to a loan spell at Doncaster Rovers, Yun has mostly struggled to earn a regular run in the team. The change of managers at QPR hasn’t seen him fall back in favour.
Nevertheless, Riga is delighted to add Young to his squad and feels he will have a big part to play in their quest for survival,
“He is a versatile player that can get forward well and has also played a number of high-pressure games in his career.”
“We have a run of three matches in a week coming soon and both Yun and Marco will reinforce our squad and be and big help to us. They are both very dedicated players and I am very happy to add them to my squad.”
