Blackburn duo Grant Hanley and Danny Graham will be “last minute” decisions as Paul Lambert’s side prepare to face Fulham on Tuesday.
Injury forced both Hanley and Graham out of Blackburn’s defeat at home to Hull last week, and Rovers boss Paul Lambert will give both players until the last minute to prove their fitness in time for the club’s Tuesday night clash against Fulham.
A desolate run of form has seen Blackburn go over two months and nine league games without a win, the side’s last win being a 1-0 victory over Rotherham on 11 December 2015. Now with the Lancashire side slipping ever closer to the Championship relegation zone, it is vitally important that Lambert’s team pick up points in their games in hand they hold over the teams around them in the table.
Having lost star striker Jordan Rhodes in a controversial deadline day deal with Middlesbrough, Blackburn will be turning to loanee Danny Graham to fire them to safety. However, a hamstring injury forced the 30-year-old to miss last weekend’s clash against Hull. Similarly, defensive stalwart Grant Hanley missed the game through a shoulder injury.
Speaking to the Lancashire Telegraph, Lambert commented on the pairing’s health situation, and whether the two will be fit for Blackburn’s Tuesday night match against Fulham.
“We’ll have to wait to the last minute to see how Grant and Danny are,” Lambert said.
“When people go out of your side who are probably unsung you notice when they are not playing.
“Grant has been in really good form and in the short time that he’s been here Danny has been excellent.”
The addition of Hanley and Graham to the Rovers squad on Tuesday would massively help a Blackburn side desperate to record a win that would allow them to stave off the looming threat of relegation
