Quintet nominated for London Football League Award

Four Championship stars and a League 2 hot shot have been nominated to be considered for London’s Football League Player of the Year Award according to Get West London.

The shortlist for the award is made up of Fulham’s attacking pair Moussa Dembele and Ross McCormack, QPR winger Matt Phillips, Brentford midfielder Alan Judge and Leyton Orient’s goal machine Jay Simpson.

Fulham youngster Dembele is enjoying an excellent season for The Cottagers after scoring 9 goals as his strike partnership with fellow Whites striker Ross McCormack continues to blossom. The striker was recently linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur. Team mate McCormack has been in equally as hot form with the Scot just shy of the 20 goal mark.

Queens Park Rangers winger Matt Phillips has again excited with his skill and pace this season despite Rangers being unable to mount a promotion challenge while Brentford’s Republic of Ireland midfielder Alan Judge has weighed in with some crucial goals for The Bees this campaign, hitting the net on no less than 12 occasions.

Leyton Orient’s Jay Simpson completes the list of nominees in a season which has seen the player top the League 2 goal scoring charts after scoring some sensational goals for The O’s

The London Football Awards take place on Thursday 3 March 2016.
