Pearson Linked With Derby Job

Former Leicester City manager Nigel Pearson is being linked with the vacant Derby County manager’s job.

According to the Daily Mail, the Rams are looking to announce the 52-year old as their new manager in at the end of the season, something Pearson himself is thought to be keen on.

Paul Clement was sacked on Monday after struggling for victories in the last two months despite guiding the club to 5th in the Sky Bet Championship.

It would be Pearson’s first job since he was axed by Premier League leaders Leicester in the summer and brings with him a wealth of Championship experience.

Pearson guided the Foxes to the Championship title two years ago with 102 points as well as the League One title back in 2009.

Given the history of the two sides, the move would be controversial but provides a cheaper alternative to Birmingham’s Gary Rowett who signed a new contract with the Blues last month.

Derby will speak with Pearson in the coming days.
