Blackburn Chasing Celtic Ace

Blackburn Rovers are chasing the signature of Celtic defender Charlie Mulgrew according to reports in Scotland.

The 29-year old’s contract expires in the summer at Celtic Park and Rovers appear to be one of the club’s monitoring his situation.

Mulgrew, an experienced utility man, started his career at Celtic before spending two seasons in England with Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2006.

The Scotsman returned to his native homeland in 2008 when he made a switch to Aberdeen. Impressive performances saw him move back to Glasgow in 2010.

Since then Mulgrew has racked up over 120 appearances for the Bhoys scoring 20 times.

This term the left-back has only appeared ten times for the club having been struck down with injuries which have plagued his career putting his future with Celtic in serious doubt.

Reports suggest Rovers, managed by former Celtic star Paul Lambert, are hoping to give Mulgrew a fresh start south of the border.

Premier League side Bournemouth are also said to be interested.
