Hull confirm deal for Legia Warsaw keeper

Championship table toppers Hull City have completed the signing of goalkeeper Dusan Kuciak. The Slovankian international joins from Polish side Legia Warsaw on an 18-month contract for a fee believed to be in the region of £250,000.

He returns to England having spent time on loan with West Ham United a number of years ago, although he failed to appear for the Hammers. He has been allocated the number 30 shirt for his stay at the KC Stadium.

The 30-year-old travelled to England over the weekend whilst he discussed a move with Steve Bruce and representatives of the East Yorkshire club. He is set to compete with Allan McGregor for the number one jersey with the club, although he could have Premier League football next season as his inventive as well.

Kuciak was a fans’ favourite with the Legia Warsaw crowd, playing over 100 games for the club since signing from Romanian side Vaslui in August 2011. Prior to that he played in Slovakia with Zilina.

He has collected ten caps for the Slovakian national team, making his debut in December 2006 and also making the squad for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He is available to make his Hull City debut this weekend against fellow promotion contenders Burnley.
