Oxford United loan Toffees youngster

Oxford United have secured the services of Everton youngster Jonjoe Kenny on a one month loan deal according to The Guardian.

The 18 year old right back will spend the next month at The Kassam Stadium however it is understood that the deal is likely to be extended should the youngster impress United Manager Michael Appleton.

Kenny is yet to make his senior debut for The Toffees but the player has been a regular for the Merseyside club’s Under 21s side in the Under 21 Premier League. The Kirkdale born right back has represented England at Under 16 to Under 19 levels and was a member of the Under 17s side which won the European Championships in 2014.

Kenny had a short spell on loan at League 1 club Wigan Athletic earlier this season where he made 7 appearances. The right back is highly rated by parent club Everton and it has been reported that Manager Roberto Martinez would like the youngster to gain some further First Team playing experience away from Goodison Park to prepare the player for a challenge to win a place in the Everton First Team squad in the future.

Oxford United are having an excellent season in League 2 and have been in the automatic promotion places for most of the season so far. Kenny will not be permitted to feature for The U’s in this weekend’s FA Cup clash with Blackburn Rovers at The Kassam Stadium.
