Liam Grimshaw signs Preston deal

The midfielder has finally joined PNE after days of speculation regarding a move.

The 20-year old has agreed a deal with the club that will see him stay on at Deepdale until 2018 and he becomes the Lilywhites fifth signing of the January transfer window.

Grimshaw has been impressing many with his performances on loan in Scotland with Motherwell and clearly Preston liked what they saw and have managed to capture the youngster on a permanent basis from his parent club, Man United. He is the third Red Devils player to make the move to PNE this month, with Ben Pearson also having made the move and Sam Johnstone having joined on a months loan.

However the midfielder, who can also play in defence, won’t be able to get straight into the action for the Lilywhites though – he has to undergo a minor operation, meaning that it will be a few weeks before he can make his debut for the club.
