According to BBC sport, Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is set to be named as the new Queens Park Rangers manager before the weekend. If the managerial change goes through, there are three Burton Albion players he could look to take with him to Loftus Road.
Despite only being 20 years old, Matt Palmer has played over 100 first team games for Burton. The central midfielder has impressed with his passing ability and creativity, and he has been crucial to Burton’s recent success which currently sees them sitting at the top of the League One table.
With QPR having a lack of cover for Charlie Austin up front, Hasselbaink may also look to add a striker in January and could attempt to steal Abdenasser El Khayati away from the Brewers. El Khayati has been Burton’s main goal threat so far this campaign with eight goals in twenty appearances.
Jerome Binnon-Williams is currently only on loan at Burton from Crystal Palace, but Hasselbaink is a big admirer of the defender. The 20-year-old has played in the bulk of the Brewers fixtures this term, and he has looked highly impressive at the back.
With QPR possessing the required financial muscle, it looks likely that Hasselbaink could try and force through deals for all three current Burton players if he takes the helm at Loftus Road in the coming days.
