Leicester and West Brom monitoring Burnley ace

The Mirror understands that Leicester City and West Bromwich Albion are monitoring the progress of Burnley full back Tendayi Darikwa. The right back has enjoyed an impressive season with Sean Dyche’s men and is beginning to attract top flight interest.

The 23-year-old right back only moved to Turf Moor over the summer, but was quickly installed himself as a key part of Dyche’s functional team. He has successfully filled the void left by Kieran Trippier, who left to join Tottenham Hotspur, and is keeping ex-Aston Villa defender Matthew Lowton out of the side.

The Nottingham-born made began his career with Chesterfield and went on to make over 100 appearances for the Derbyshire club. In his final season under then manager Paul Cook, he won the club Player of the Year and Players’ Player of the Year awards.

However Claudio Ranieri and Tony Pulis are clearly two eagerly keen admirers and are set to continue sending scouts to Burnley games to get a further impression of his qualities. Premier League clubs are beginning to scour the Football League for talent, especially in the light of Dele Alli’s rapid rise from League One to Premier League regular and England international.

Dyche undoubtedly will believe he can offer Darikwa Premier League football next season by achieving promotion back to the top flight at the very first attempt. It is highly likely that he will indeed remain at Turf Moor for the remainder of the campaign at the very least. Perhaps ‘silly money’ could be offered so Dyche will perhaps have a quiet ear in his eye, just to keep him on the straight and narrow.
