Brighton keeper keen on loan move

Christian Walton wants to agree another deal to go out on loan this year, according to BBC Sport

The keeper is desperate to go out on loan to get more first-team football under his belt, with the 20-year old currently being kept out of the starting eleven at Brighton by David Stockdale.

Walton was set to spend the season on loan down in League 1 with Bury but a groin injury saw him return to the Amex Stadium after featuring just six times for the Shakers.

He is now back playing and he is eager to get some more game-time by going out on loan. He said: “I need to go out and get some more game time under my belt.

“I’d like to play in League One but if not I might have to be patient and keep playing under-21 games here. I need to keep doing my thing in training and make sure I have the right attitude and application.”

He also believes that despite featuring only a few times for Bury, that it helped him massively improve his game. He added: “It was a good standard and helped me massively.

“It was cut short but I felt I improved as a person and a keeper.”

While he waits for club football, he is sure to be kept busy by England, as he has been selected by Gareth Southgate for the England Under-21 squad.
