Derby County lining up big-money move for striker

Derby County are lining up a big-money move for Queens Park Rangers striker Charlie Austin, according to a report by The Sun.

It is understood that Derby will also offer Austin a big-money personal package that could be enough to tempt the striker to switch clubs.

Austin was linked with a move to several Premier League clubs in the summer but any transfer failed to materialise, with QPR rejecting offers from Leicester City especially.  It is believed that following the lack of a move away, Austin has decided to see out his contract at the London club and to try get a move to the Premier League next summer.

However Derby County are hoping that they can snatch Austin from QPR in January as they look to bolster the squad for their own promotion push.

Derby may find it hard convincing Austin to sign for another Championship club but with no serious offers from Premier League clubs at the moment, the striker may be tempted to try and go up with Derby this season.
