Leeds United: Blundering Bellusci – Twitter reacts

It doesn’t take much to sting Leeds United fans into criticism; Giuseppe Bellusci gave them plenty of ammunition in the opening 30-or-so minutes of the Whites’ defeat against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium.

If a rather ropey attempt at a flicked header away from danger, that gifted David Nugent the opening goal, wasn’t enough to get the boo boys on his back then Bellusci’s thundering headed own goal was just cause enough to create the criticism maelstrom.

Giuseppe Bellusci has become something of an easy target of late with a healthy segment of the Leeds support seeing him as something of a liability in a change from his much-celebrated ‘Warrior’ start when he signed on last season from Italian side Calcio Catania. Until Sol Bamba signed on loan from Palermo, Bellusci was very much the central defensive lynch pin whilst an ever-rotating set of defensive partners seemed to self-destruct around him.

To say he didn’t have the most comfortable of afternoons against Middlesbrough in the 3-0 defeat on Teeside would be something of an understatement, especially if going by what Leeds fans on Twitter have been saying.

Blundering buffoonery brings bad Bellusci back – Twitter reaction.

And the final word goes to the following, who proposes a change in he customary Man-of-the-Match drink for Bellusci’s performance.

Fair enough, it wasn’t an exemplary performance from Giuseppe Bellusci, far from it. He likely does deserve to cop some criticism for his faux pas today; he acknowledged that at the end of the game. However, you can rest assured that these ‘safe for work’ Tweets in this article will be replaced with pure nastiness when Leeds fans make their way over to Bellusci’s personal Twitter page to vent their spleen.
