Leeds United: 5 things – Uwe Rosler reflects on Boro defeat

It wasn’t pretty from a Leeds United perspective today, all three Middlesbrough goals coming from defensive errors by Leeds United players with Giuseppe Bellusci chief amongst them. Head coach Uwe Rosler chose to focus his thoughts elsewhere.

It was a frustrating display from Leeds who, apart from calamitous ‘Chuckle Brother’ defending, more than held their own against a very dangerous Middlesbrough side who, in beating the Whites, extended their winning streak to seven games. After the game, Leeds United head coach Uwe Rosler spoke to Leeds’ in-house TV channel LUTV (below) about the game and its incidents.

Five things from Rosler

1. In response to how the game panned out.

“In many ways the game turn[ed] out how I predicted Middlesbrough didn’t create much but they are very efficient, very deadly because of the quality they have in their  squad.”

2. About the sway in decisions.

“Second half we was [sic] clearly on top and the major decisions today went against us.”

3. Expanding on one decision in particular.

“The linesman should be 110% sure that our player was offside, obviously he wasn’t.”

4. Responding to a question about unforced errors.

“I think it is for me more important how we played, how we tried to take the game to them, how we stuck to the game plan and there was a lot of positives today.”

5. Summing up Jordan Botaka’s debut.

“I also think that Jordan Botaka had a decent debut. He forced George Friend, who is one of the most attacking wing backs in our league to stay back.”
