Leeds United on wings and some prayers

According to a report by Phil Hay in today’s Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds United have expressed a late interest in Watford’s Lloyd Dyer.

Hay reports that 32-year old winger Dyer, a veteran of over 400 appearances, has appeared late on Leeds United’s radar as Transfer Deadline Day enters its final stretch. Interest in Dyer comes as Leeds look to add a second winger to the impending announcement of the signing of NEC Nijmegen’s Congolese international Jordan Botaka, an announcement on him is expected soon. Winger Dyer, is out of favour at Vicarage Road and has not played any part in any of Watford’s games this current season.

It seems that it is definitely a case of wings and prayers up at Elland Road as the 6pm deadline looms, with Botaka and Dyer amongst those players definitely on the Whites radar. Hay also reports that Leeds have “ended their interest” in Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Rajiv la Parra but are still “continuing to monitor” the situation regarding Sunderland’s Will Buckley.

WIth there being around seven hours left before the window closes, it could be exciting times ahead for Leeds fans.
