Hull hope to have found a Diomande in the rough

Hull are very close to completing a deal for Stabaek striker Adama Diomande for a fee of around £1.7m, according to the Hull Daily Mail.

The striker has been capped for Norway and has an impressive 17 in 21 record for his club.

£1.7m is a big fee for a player in the Tippeligaen, but Diomande only signed a two and a half year deal in March, which is likely to have boosted that fee.

If he can continue the goalscoring form he has shown this year, they will sell him for at least five times that in a few years anyway.

Diomande is just 25 and has a decent scoring record over his whole career, which Hull fans will see as a positive and hope he can replace the forwards who have left this summer – notably Nikica Jelavic today.
