Burnley: Vossen turns to Jelle – heads to Brugge

As announced earlier by The Daily Mail, Jelle Vossen’s brief spell as a Burnley player has come to an end and the striker has returned to his native Belgium to take up a contract with Club Brugge, as announced by the official club website. In returning to Belgium, Vossen brought to an end a brief eight-week spell in Lancashire, making four appearances (including another as a substitute). The Daily Mail announced that “Burnley could afford to let Vossen go following a surprise enquiry from Bruges.”

This probability became reality with the announcement of his return to Belgium from Burnley. With his signing, Club Brugge announce that they “have now a Belgian top striker to replace Tom De Sutter who moved to Turkey. Vossen signed a five-year deal with The Blues.” Whilst on loan at Middlesbrough, Vossen scored seven goals in 33 league games and it is this goal-scoring that Brugge will hope that he can build on now he is back in Belgium.
