Hull City make offer for MLS player

The Chicago Sun times have confirmed that Hull City have made an offer for Shaun Maloney. Maloney has appeared 12 times for Chicago Fire this season, scoring on three occasions and providing two assists.  During his current spell at Chicago Fire he was named MLS Player-of-the-Week, after scoring his first goal in a 3-2 win over Toronto.

Before he joined the Fire he spent 4 years at Wigan, scoring 14 goals in 79 appearances, while also lifting the FA Cup in 2013.

However he is best known for his two spells at Celtic, scoring 40 goals in 158 games. At Celtic he earned Scottish PFA Player, and Young Player, of the Year in 2006. In the same year he was also voted as being Celtic Fans’ Player of the Year.

The attacking midfielder, now 32, is also a current Scottish international appearing 40 times and scoring 6 times.

After the Tigers became the 72nd football league club to make a signing, last week, signings have been coming in regularly over the past 7 days. However no big signings have yet to be made.

The anticipation that Jelavic, N’Doye and Hernandez are to leave before the transfer window closes, it can clearly be seen that Steve Bruce is looking for versatile and attacking players to fill their boots.

Having only joined the Fire in January, the Scott could be on his way back across the pond. But will Chicago want to let him go, especially seeing as the MLS is still under-way.
