Nottingham Forest release Midfield duo

Nottingham Forest have released two Midfielders as they look to make more room in their squad. Radoslaw Majewski and Djamel Abdoun have both agreed to terminate their contracts at the City Ground.

Under Financial Fair Play regulations, Forest are only allowed a 24 man squad of ‘established pro’s’, this means that anyone over the age of 21 that has made 5 appearances or more, takes up one of the 24 places. Yesterday saw Forest fill the final space in their squad, with the capture of Spanish left back Daniel Pinillos, however shortly after his arrival, Forest announced that they had terminated the contracts of Majewski and Abdoun.

Majewski made 35 appearances for the reds on loan from Polania Warsaw in a season that saw him score 3 goals, he was signed permanently the following season and went on to make a further 109 appearances for the club. Majewski played for Huddersfield Town on loan last season, but only made 8 appearances.

Abdoun was signed by Billy Davies in 2013 from Greek side Olympiakos, he only made 11 appearances, scoring just the one goal which was a penalty in Forest’s 5-0 FA Cup win over West Ham United.
