Charlton look to hoover up deal for Henry

Charlton are reportedly interested in signing Wolves midfielder, James Henry.

The 26 year old is said to be someone Addicks boss Guy Luzon is targeting and it is also reported that Charlton have tabled a £500,000 bid for the midfielder.

Last season, the Wolves midfielder made 40 appearances with 37 coming in the Championship, 2 coming in the FA Cup and 1 coming in the League Cup against Northampton Town in the First Round – a game Wolves lost 3-2.

Henry started his career with Reading but over the 4 year period he was there for, he only made 10 appearances and actually spent 5 spells out on loan at 4 different clubs. In 2010, he moved to Millwall which was the club he had spent his last two loan spells with and scored 8 goals in 26 appearances during his time on loan. In total, he made more appearances for Millwall than he has for any other club with 164.

If Wolves do sell the 26 year old for the price reported, they will make a potential £200,000 loss on the price they bought him from Millwall for. It’s reported that Wolves bought the midfielder for £700,000 (Source: TransferMarkt) and as a result, will make a loss on Henry if Millwall do indeed buy him for £500,000.
