Adkins diet doesn’t involve cutting out Leeds United target Murphy

Nigel Adkins has denied that he will be letting Jamie Murphy join Leeds, despite the arrival of Martyn Woolford, according to the Yorkshire Post.

29-year old Woolford has recently joined the Blades and with the ex-York City man playing in the same position as Murphy, it led many to believe that it could pave the way for him to join Leeds.

However, Adkins has denied that he will be letting the 25-year old leave as he said: “It doesn’t mean anything for Jamie Murphy.

“We are trying to get ourselves promoted this year and I am certainly not looking to move Jamie Murphy on.”

The forward has been linked with a move to Elland Road for several weeks now and with the Blades interested in Billy Sharp, it led to reports that there could be some kind of swap deal on the cards between the two clubs.

There have also been several reports of bids being tabled for Murphy but as of yet, the forward is going nowhere. There has been no official confirmation of any offers from Leeds yet and with Adkins adamant that the 25-year old is going nowhere, he could very well end up staying at Bramall Lane.

Murphy featured 58 times for the Blades last season and bagged himself 12 goals.
