Leeds United to plot bold move for Juventus want-away

According to the Yorkshire Post, Leeds United are interested in an audacious move which would see soon-to-be out of contract Juventus star Simone Pepe join the Whites.

The former Italian international has spent five years with the Champions League Finalists but was not offered a new contract after suffering three injury plagued seasons.

Leeds chairman Massimo Cellino has spoken plenty about his desire to bring in Italian players to Elland Road but the club would have to fend off serious interest from several Serie A outfits to bring in Pepe.

31 year-old Pepe has played the entirety of his career in his home country playing for numerous clubs, including giants Roma, but rose to prominence with Udinese during 2007 and 2010.

The winger bagged seven goals in 32 Serie A games for Udinese in the 2009-10 season leading the Old Lady to sign the four-time Serie A winner for £5 million.

Pepe also has the Supercoppa Italiana and Coppa Italia to his name, as well as a Serie B title which he achieved with Palermo.
