Birmingham pull out of a deal for Wigan defender

Rob Kiernan will not be joining Birmingham according to the Birmingham Mail.

Everything was set for the defender to make the move to St Andrew’s but it now appears that a deal is dead in the water.

The 24-year old had agreed on a two-year deal with the Blues but after undergoing a medical, Birmingham have decided to back out of a move as they weren’t too happy with several aspects of the aforementioned medical.

Kiernan spent some time on loan at St Andrew’s last season and during his time at the club he managed to make a good impact, so much so that the Blues wanted to sign him permanently.

However, it now looks as if the centre-back will be staying at the DW.
