Port Vale sign 2 but lose 1

Port Vale have made their first transfer business of the summer by bringing in former loanee defender Remi Streete from Newcastle and ex Norwich and Everton youngster Sam Kelly.

Streete, who impressed in his loan spell at Vale last season has joined the Valiants on a 2 year deal after his contract with Newcastle was cancelled by mutual consent in the Summer. Streete was part of the high-profile story of 5 Newcastle United players being loaned Rangers last season but only made 1 appearance because of injury.

Winger Sam Kelly has also joined Vale on a 2 year contract. Kelly came through the Norwich City youth system before moving to Everton in 2012. He then signed for Cambridge City before returning to Norwich to play for their u-21 team last season.

In other transfer news, Striker Ben Williamson has joined fellow League 1 side Gillingham on a 2 year deal after rejecting a contract extension at Port Vale. Williamson scored 28 goals in 132 appearance over a 4 year spell at Vale Park.
