Nyatanga pens new deal

Lewin Nyatanga has signed a new deal at Barnsley.

The club have been desperate to try the defender down to a new deal and he has now agreed a new two-year contract with the Tykes.

He was a key figure at Oakwell last season as he made 51 appearances and even contributed five goals. There was interest from other Football League clubs but the 26-year old has decided against a move elsewhere.

The offer has been on the table for Nyatanga for several weeks now and after weighing up his options, he has decided to stay put – on the eve of his wedding day!

So, over these two days, he will have committed his future to both Barnsley and to his soon-to-be wife. Congratulations to him!
