After days of speculation, Nigel Adkins has today been confirmed as the new Sheffield United boss on a two year deal.
The former-Southampton and, more recently, Reading boss has been subject to speculation ever since Nigel Clough’s departure from Bramall Lane last Monday (25th May). Adkins has also been the bookies favourites for the majority of the time the Blades have been managerless.
The Club this afternoon confirmed the appointment of Adkins on their Twitter account saying:

In his time as a manager, Adkins has a win percentage of 43.8%, 22.1% draw rate and a loss rate of 34.1%. His best points per game rate as a ‘proper’ manager came in his time at Southampton when he managed 1.82 points per game in 124 matches (Source: TransferMarkt).
