5 teams who could cause a shock this season

There are few guarantees in life. Converting oxygen into carbon dioxide, bills of many varieties, and there will be shocks in the English Football League.

Last season alone saw former FA Cup winners and Premier League hopefuls Wigan relegated from the Championship, whilst newly promoted Brentford wowed their way to the Play-Offs. Ipswich as well, a much unfancied side, had a terrific season under Mick McCarthy, finishing in a Play-off spot as well.

In League One, we saw Yeovil suffer successive relegations, and successive last place seasons as they found themselves in League Two all of a sudden. Leyton Orient, the team who led the way for so long two seasons ago, and were two goals up in the League One Play-off final, suddenly find themselves alongside Yeovil.

In League Two, Wycombe Wanderers shocked everyone. Surviving on the final day of the season in 2014, everybody predicted a similar scrappy season for the Chairboys. But under the luscious locks of Gareth Ainsworth, they seemed set to win a shock place in League One. They just missed out on automatic promotion from Leaugue Two, and were seconds away from promotion via the Play-offs, when Southend equalised in the dying seconds of extra-time, before winning on penalties.

I am now going to attempt the impossible task, and predict who will be the shock causers this time around across all three divisions.

Wish me luck…
