O’Connor signs new Walsall deal

Walsall defender James O’Connor has put pen to paper on a new deal at the club.

The 30-year old joined the Saddlers from Derby County last year and after a good first season at the club, he has signed a new one-year deal at the Bescot Stadium. He made 35 appearances for the club in total last season.

He told the club website:

“I am happy to get things sorted. I was pleased with my form in the second half of last season and now I want to kick-on from there.

“With a good start to the season and some momentum, I can see no reason whatsoever why we can’t be up there challenging during the campaign ahead.”
