Bournemouth plotting loan move for Chelsea winger

Sky Sports are reporting that Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth are in talks with Chelsea over the potential loaning of Christian Atsu.

The Ghanaian forward has spent the season on loan at Everton but has struggled to make an impression with the Toffees, making just five league appearances during his spell on Merseyside.

Newly promoted Bournemouth will be looking to strengthen their squad, with keeper Artur Boruc being their first acquisition at the start of the week.

Atsu is yet to feature for Chelsea, having spent the 2013-14 season on loan at Dutch side Vitesse. During his loan in Holland, the 23 year-old netted five times in 28 games.

Chelsea bought the pacey winger from Porto in 2013 for a fee believed to be around £3.5 million after the youngster impressed with performances in the Portugal league.

A prominent feature in the Ghanaian squad for several years now, Atsu was an integral part of the team that made it to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015, although the Black Stars lost to the Ivory Coast in the final.

Despite not winning the tournament, Atsu came home with two awards; the Best Goal of the Tournament, and the accolade of being the Best Player of the competition.
