Out of contract Port Vale Striker Tom Pope is a target for fellow League 1 club Doncaster Rovers according to reports.
BBC Radio Stoke believe Pope will hold talks this week with Doncaster over a possible move to the Keepmoat Stadium this summer.
Port Vale have offered a new deal to the locally born Striker, however Vale Chairman Norman Smuthwaite has revealed that Pope would be offered a reduced deal than his current contract that runs out in the summer.
Pope responded to speculation about his future and reports of a pay cut by telling The Sentinel Newspaper:
“Hopefully something can be sorted out. [..] just because I am a local lad and support the club doesn’t mean I am going to be happy to stay whatever is offered.[..] Hopefully we can meet half way or I can get an agreement with the chairman.”
The 29 year old has scored 61 goals in the past 3 years for The Valiant’s including 33 in their promotion season in 2012/13.
