Leeds United – Jimmy Floyd, will he, won’t he?

My missus is indecisive, take her to any restaurant and it’s Dithering City here we come. “Should I get this?”…”what about that?”…”I might try…”, ordering Dear, you might try ordering. Or making your mind up, bit like Bucks Fizz.

Anyway, it seems the ‘will-he, won’t-he’ game is being played by the British press over Jimmy Floyd Hasslebaink and whether he is a contender for the ‘not-yet-vancant’ Leeds United coach job, current incumbent Neil Redfearn. However, the press has been awash with stories of Redfearn’s soon-to-be demise as il capo Cellino is reputedly looking elsewhere for new direction for the club.

One name that has been thrown into the mix is that of ex-Leeds United favourite Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, who played two seasons for the Whites, scoring 42 goals in 87 appearances. It was rumoured, driven by promptings from Hasselbaink’s agent Humphrey Nijman, that the Dutchman had been spoken to by Leeds, an allegation denied by Cellino who dismissed the grumblings as “just talk”. On the back of that, Hasselbaink himself, currently manager at Burton Albion who are on the cusp of clinching the League Two title should they win on Sunday, denied that he was in the frame and reiterated that he was focusing on the duties at Burton Albion.

However, with some cryptic responses, Hasslebaink himself may have tugged open the ears of the rumour-mongers, saying,

“Leeds is a very beautiful club,”I’ll make decisions for myself with my brain and not with my heart…It’s difficult for me to talk about because they have a good manager at the moment who has done really well and I have a job here that I really like…It’s not nice to talk about those kind of things.”

Come on Leeds, at least try and sort something one way or the other; Neil Redfearn doesn’t deserve to be messed around.

Please, don’t end up dithering like my Missus.
