Newcastle to move for Alli

Highly rated MK Dons midfielder Dele Alli is a target of Newcastle United, according to reports.

Alli has been an ever-present in the Dons midfield since making his debut at the age of 16, and has pushed on this season scoring 11 goals and contributing three assists: putting him top of both charts for the club.

The Dons will be keen to hang onto the midfielder, who has been dubbed the next Steven Gerrard, as they push for automatic promotion from League One. They sit third in the table, six points of top spot but with two games in hand.

Karl Robinson’s Dons are reportedly willing to listen to offers, but would want the 18-year-old to return on loan for the remainder of the season, should any deal be struck.

In the summer, Liverpool and Tottenham were rumoured to be locked in a £9million transfer battle for the midfielder, but the deal never came off. Alli has made 56 appearances for the Dons and scored 16 goals.

The midfielder also signed a new long term deal at the club in September, so if Alli is to go anywhere, expect a hefty fee to be exchanged.
